Who We Are

About Our Club

Since 1975, the Orangevale Youth Soccer Club (OYSC) has been serving the community in and around Orangevale by providing a safe and fun environment for families with children between the ages of 4 to 18 to compete in soccer. The club is a non-profit and all volunteer organization.

The board meets throughout the year (nearly monthly) to organize and direct the efforts of our volunteers.

If you’re interested in learning more or attending a board meeting, please contact us.

RECREATIONAL
SOCCER PROGRAM

Since 1975, the Orangevale Youth Soccer Club has proudly offered a robust recreational soccer program to the families of our community. A recreational program emphasizes fun and teamwork. Regardless of the age that your child starts playing soccer, the recreational program is a terrific environment to make new friends and learn to love the game of soccer.

We are happy to offer the following divisions (separated by boys and girls):

    U6
  • U8
  • U10
  • U12
  • U14
  • U16
  • U19

The “U” stands for “under”… so in the case of U10, the players are eight or nine years old.

Because our club is dedicated to serving our community, we work hard to keep costs low and help put friends on the same team whenever possible. When you register your child to play, you’ll have an opportunity to request a specific team, coach or teammate.

Most games are played locally. For the youngest ages, virtually all games are played in Orangevale, Folsom or Rancho Cordova. As you move up in age, games are spread out a bit more and include places like El Dorado Hills, Sacramento or Elk Grove.

If you are interested in a more intense program, we recommend you consider either the competitive or academy programs.

If you have any questions about our recreational program, please contact us.

Program

COMPETITIVE

As a member of the Folsom Lake Soccer League, we recommend families check out Folsom Lake Surf Soccer Club for those interested in a more competitive environment than what our recreational program offers.

  • At the younger ages (U7-U10), the Academy program offers a great transition from a recreational program for youth that are just starting to show a serious interest in soccer.
  • At the older ages (U11-U19), serious athletes can continue competing at a high level in the Elite program. For the highest levels of competition (U11-U19), the Premier program demands year-round engagement.

As a player moves up in competition level, registration/costs, travel and time commitment also increase significantly.

VOLUNTEERS ARE
ALWAYS NEEDED

From top to bottom, our soccer club is run by volunteers* – literally!

  • The Club Manager is a volunteer.
  • The Registrar is a volunteer.
  • The Coach Coordinator is a volunteer.
  • he Referee Coordinator is a volunteer.
  • The Treasurer is a volunteers.
  • The Field Coordinators are volunteers.
  • The Coaches are volunteers.
  • The Assistant Coaches are volunteers.
  • The Team Moms (& Dads) are volunteers.

If your volunteer efforts haven’t extended beyond getting your child to practices and games yet, please consider contributing a little more. Odds are you, you’re going to enjoy serving alongside other members of the community who are working to make Orangevale a great place to raise a family.

Because there are so many different ways to volunteer – anyone of any ability can serve. Some volunteers roles benefit from knowing a fair amount about the game (ie: coaching, coordinating coaching or refereeing). Other roles are really geared for support (ie: team moms/dads). Some roles require some technical savvy (ie: managing the website and registration). Some less social roles are critical even though many don’t see them volunteering (ie: field managers, treasurers).

If you’ve ever wanted to be involved, please reach out to let us know and we’ll help you find a meaningful way to contribute that you enjoy.

The only position that isn’t volunteer is the referee. If you want a paying job, learn more about becoming a referee.

Volunteering can be simple!

Volunteer with a friend or volunteer to make friends!

Anyone of any age can volunteer. Don't underestimate yourself or the need for volunteers!
